Well the nights are drawing in and the days are certainly getting colder, which makes me think about comfort food. I love walking into the kitchen after a crazily busy day, putting down my laptop bag, keys and phone and relaxing to the smell of gorgeous food cooked and ready to eat. With this in mind, I remembered my slow cooker that has been in its box, in the cupboard under the stairs for nearly two years. I started looking on the internet for some good recipes to try. One stood out that sounded delicious – Paleo Pork Loin, we already had most of the ingredients which obviously helps so I just needed to add a few items to our weekly food delivery. Once I had all the ingredients I was desperate to get started, I managed to chop all the ingredients up and put them in the slow cooker before the kids woke up, this was very quick and easy to do, then the last task was to select the slow cooking time and leave it until I returned 8 hours later. I must say this recipe is full of beautiful mouth watering flavours, can be served with rice, couscous or sweet potato. My husband loved it and even the kids tried it.

Well what an amazing day we had at the Mumpreneur 2012 Awards up in Birmingham at the Heart of England Conference Centre. We were over the moon to be nominated in the Best Business Start Up category and couldn’t wait to meet the faces behind the other nominated businesses. We met so many exciting and inspirational mumpreneur’s over the weekend, it was great sharing business tips and bouncing ideas off each other. The day itself was fun packed and busy, I made sure that I took down lots of notes whilst listening to the extremely witty Kate Wilson from Nosey Crow and the gorgeous Claire Young from The Apprentice, who had only given birth 12 weeks previously! Whilst we didn’t win the category (this went to the amazing Spa – The Potting Shed) we had such an amazing weekend and the Mumpreneur ladies were brilliant hosts.
I have come away with so many ideas I don’t really know where to start, so the job for this afternoon is to go through all the bullet points and write down the most important and go from there. Here is a small picture of me and Claire Young, taken after a 5 minute chat about her work and Rightbag.
